First Official 'It: Chapter Two' Poster Teases Bill Skarsgård's Return As Pennywise

Every 27 years, evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, so in IT: Chapter Two, the characters - who've long since gone their separate ways - are back together as adults, after It returns.

James McAvoy plays Bill Denbrough, Jessica Chastain is Beverly Marsh, James Ransone portrays Eddie Kaspbrak, Jay Ryan depicts Ben Hanscom, Isaiah Mustafa stars as Mike Hanlon and Bill Hader appears as Richie Tozer. The horror drama is a sequel to Andy Muschietti's critically acclaimed 2017 It, which is an adaptation of Stephen King's classic horror tale of the same name.

Despite spending most of its time in the present day, we do see a few golden-hued glimpses of the gang back in their "80s glory in the trailer". But that old woman turns out to be not so innocent-our first indication that IT: Chapter Two is likely to be just as terrifying as its predecessor.

"You know what they say about Derry?" the woman tells her with a contorted smile.

The trailer shows Jessica Chastain playing the adult Beverly as she visits her old home in Derry.

As Beverley visits her old home where she lived with her abusive father, the place where we saw the bloody bathroom scene, she meets an old lady who seems normal, but something about her is definitely odd. In the photo, we see a pre-clown Pennywise, and we're betting that Chapter 2 might be the closest thing we'll ever get to have of an origin story from the infamously creepy clown. Something is clearly off about the woman, and she ends up attacking Beverly.

After he was turned against at the close of the first film, It: Chapter Two sees Pennywise on a quest for vengeance. No one who dies here ever really does, " and then seeing a chest wound seconds later as she fans out her blouse. The clown is down September 6.

The first film set numerous box office records and grossed $700million worldwide.

The highly-anticipated trailer for the horror sequel It: Chapter Two has finally been released.
