‘Borderlands 3’ Officially Announced with New Trailer; Includes Gun with Legs

At the developer's PAX East panel today, Gearbox finally confirmed Borderlands 3's existence. And later that year we learned most of Gearbox was working on a game we likely assumed to be Borderlands 3.

Arriving April 3, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition is a remake of "the co-op shooter-looter that started it all".

Watch the trailer for Borderlands 3 above. We were treated to the first trailer for the highly anticipated threequel, which, of course, promises billions of guns. It does show four new characters - the game's main classes, their abilities, and host of returning NPCs from the earlier games.

When you're done with that, you can tackle Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, a compilation that includes the "definitive version" of both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. They're also bringing over the Golden Key system from the later games, letting you trade in these special promo keys for a roll of the dice and a chance at some rare gear.

The trailer, which can be viewed below, features a number of series staples, including the iconic Psycho mask and the series unique flair for combining the desolate wasteland with all the color and sound of the New York World Fair.

Also, in response to fan feedback from the original game, the final boss battle of Borderlands will be adjusted to be "more engaging, challenging, and rewarding". We knew as early as 2016 that Gearbox was working on the next Borderlands, but no sort of official announcement about it came alongside those comments.

For those who prefer their Vault Hunting action in a more analog format, Tiny Tina's Robot Tea Party also made its debut during the panel.
