Militao: new Real Madrid signing

His debut came against Moreirense in the League and he got his name on the scoresheet for the first time against Schalke in the Champions League.

Little is known about Eder given his lack of experience in European football.

This is what the statement from Los Blancos said: "Real Madrid C.F. and FC Porto have agreed the transfer of Éder Militão and the player will sign on a six-year contract running until the 30th of June 2025".

But Real Madrid raved about him in their statement confirming his signing.

On Thursday they announced the signing of 21-year-old Militao, who will join from Porto in a €50million (£43m) deal in the summer.

"A multi-purpose player, Militao plays central, although he has also occupied the right-back position".

Former Madrid defender Pepe - who plays alongside Militao at Porto - is likely to be a good source of advice for the youngster, having left the Dragons in 2007 to spend the next decade at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"He stands out for his speed, positioning and ability to anticipate danger".

Militao has had an excellent first season in Europe, becoming a key part of the Porto squad and starting 20 league and seven Champions League matches, scoring three goals in the process.

The defender has made one appearance for Brazil and can play at centre back, full back or defensive midfield.
