Jaguar Attack Victim Apologizes to Zoo, Admits Fault

The woman, who hasn't been identified, was allegedly trying to take a selfie when she crossed a barrier meant to keep visitors back from the animal's enclosure at Wildlife World Zoo in Litchfield Park on Saturday. "Still sending prayers to her and her family". However, she was released shortly after with a series of stitches. I rush over and see this girl with her hand up against the Jaguar enclosure fence with a black Jaguar's claws in its grasp.

Morcum added that the woman admitted fault in regards to the incident.

Shawn Gilleland of the Rural Metro Fire Department told PEOPLE that the woman was transported to a hospital following the incident, where she was treat for lacerations to her arm and hand. The jaguar took a swipe at her, clawing her arm.

Zoo officials responded to an incident surrounding a jaguar that attacked a woman who crossed over a barrier to take a selfie on Saturday. "That happens occasionally. And we put substantial barriers there and if people cross them, they can get in trouble".

On Sunday, the woman returned to the zoo, reports AZFamily.com, to speak with the zoo's owner and apologize for her actions.

Michele Flores said Monday she grabbed a water bottle from a stroller and put it through an enclosure, distracting the jaguar.

Footage of the alarming incident showed how significantly the female jaguar had injured the Arizona zoo's guest.

Wilkerson then added that it was only when his mom then distracted the jaguar with a water bottle that the big cat left the woman alone.

According to witnesses on the scene - one of which captured a video of the woman writhing in pain after the jaguar clawed at her arm - the incident began when the unidentified woman climbed over a federally-regulated concrete wall that helps to keep a safe distance between the animal cage and the spectators.

"She won't be put down", the zoo tweeted in response to someone's inquiry about the animal.

"Without thinking, I had no idea what I was going to see, I just ran over there". "The jaguar just goes after the bottle".
