Walt Disney World’s Star Wars land to open early

Walt Disney World’s Star Wars land to open early

However, both early opening dates do have a tradeoff: Bob Iger, Disney's CEO, told investors that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, will be opening with only one of the two marquee rides. And you should know that valid theme park admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios is required to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge after its opening on August 29, 2019.

Guests at Galaxy's Edge will be able to use the Play Disney Parks app to interact with elements inside the experience including droids, ships, media screens, door panels and antenna arrays. Only one major attraction-Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run-will be open.

At Disney World, the opening of Galaxy's Edge will give a big boost to a park that suffered a loss in attendance as old attractions closed to make way for new ones including Star Wars land and Toy Story Land, which opened last June. Elison said Disney may provide exclusive content for the Japanese market, but he refrained from giving details.

With Disneyland expecting at least 200,000 guests on opening day, wait times for the two attractions, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, may be as much as 10 hours. However, no reservation will be required for visitors in Florida when Galaxy's Edge opens in August. It will be available during Extra Magic Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Disney's plans to launch a Star Wars-themed land have been in development for some time now.

The 14-acre land at Disney's Hollywood Studios is designed as a settlement on a remote planet named Batuu, with full-scale X-wing and A-wing starfighters parked among the bazaar stalls.

It's looking like the force may be with all of you as soon as this spring. According to a Disney press release, the Star Wars area will be the "largest-ever, single-themed land expansions". Hopefully, this will help you be one of the first to experience Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Guests staying at one of the resorts on property will have a designated reservation to access the land. The land -including participation in its experiences-will be subject to capacity restraints and other restrictions.
