Bryce Harper Rumors: This Team ‘Clear-Cut Favorite’ To Land Free Agent

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reported that the contract is believed to be in the $24 million range. The report states they appear to have turned their focus to Machado and recently made him a $200 million offer. The righty has always racked up lots of hits and sports a high career batting average.

After the Boston Red Sox won the 2018 World Series, New York Yankee fans want the Bombers to make some kind of big splash in 2019 free agency and that could mean signing superstar Manny Machado.

The team may have already sent that message after signing Troy Tulowitzki, but some fans still held out hope considering Tulowitzki's low cost and injury history.

Ultimately, time will tell how the Yankees plan to utilize LeMahieu and the rest of their infielders.

LeMahieu's multi-positional abilities will allow him to play second base, with Gleyber Torres at shortstop, in the event that the oft-injured Tulowitzki can not take the field.

The only real question mark in the Yankees' infield is first base, with Luke Voit and Greg Bird returning next season. The righty could also slide over to third base late in games, serving as a defensive replacement for the defensively challenged youngster, Miguel Andujar.

As for Manny Machado, whose market is reportedly down to the Phillies and White Sox, Nightengale says the White Sox are now favorites to sign Machado, something very few around the game expected with Philadelphia and the Yankees in the chase.

Good luck in New York, DJ. LeMahieu is also as reliable as they get with the glove. The move is already sparking speculation that NY is bowing out of the Manny Machado sweepstakes. So assuming the Machado domino falls soon, we could finally see this scenario play out in the next week or so.
