Murray finished 20 of 27 for 364 yards and converted a late fourth down to seal a matchup of Heisman Trophy hopefuls. In Big 12 games, West Virginia had the league's top scoring defense (22.6 points per game) and ranked second behind Iowa State in rushing defense (117.7 yards) and pass defense (252.9 yards).

The game wasn't over, however, until Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley eschewed a punt in the final minutes and instead called for Murray to go for it on fourth-and-5 from the WVU 40. Gaskin rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns, a year after running for 192 yards and four scores against the Cougars.

"Against West Virginia, they got the stops they needed".

Murray was able to scramble around the pocket for a mind-boggling eight seconds before making the throw.

OU has never lost to West Virginia since the Mountaineers joined the Big 12, going 7-0.

The Sooners and Longhorns kickoff at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Arlington. With the win, they are now 8-1 in conference play.
