Kenya: Melania Trump visits third African country in one day

Her husband tweeted: "Our country's great First Lady, Melania, is doing really well in Africa".

The visiting US First Lady Melania Trump to Malawi on Thursday afternoon was caught unaware when some American health workers protested her arrival in the country over her husband aid cut to African on reproductive, maternal health and HIV/AIDS. After recovering her confidence she approached again to give a young orphan a lengthy pat, apparently absorbed by the texture of its ear.

Mrs Trump is also expected to visit Kenya and Egypt. The people love her, and she loves them!

She had pin-pointed promotion of child education, fight against HIV/AIDS and conservation as her pivotal areas of focus.

On her first day in Ghana, Trump visited a baby clinic and toured Greater Accra Regional Hospital and a new facility where she passed out teddy bears and spent time with the children.


Kenya is the third stop on her Africa tour, which began on Tuesday in Ghana and continued in Malawi on Thursday.

According to Malawi State House official says Mrs Trump was looking forward to seeing how the USA can continue working together with Malawi to support a USAid programme that is focused on children's education.

Melania is set to champion for her "Be Best" initiative, whose goals are similar to those of Margaret's Beyond Zero.

"I was heartened to spend time with the students and was honoured to donate school supplies and soccer balls", she said.

"Thank you for having me here and thank you for a handsome warm welcome", Trump told her hosts, adding that she wanted to be in Malawi to see the success of American programs here.

The first lady was greeted by Malawi's first lady, Gertrude Mutharika, when she arrived in the country.
