Brett Kavanaugh attacks backfiring on Democrats, Trump says

The Star Tribune notes that Trump blasted attorney general candidate Keith Ellison as an advocate of open borders, but stayed away from the abuse allegation leveled at Ellison by a former girlfriend.

"He was wacky", Trump said referring to Franken during his rally in Minnesota.

The line to get into Thursday night's rally snaked throughout most of downtown Rochester. I wish Trump had followed up "the party of crime" theme by citing Ellison's support for cop killers. Man, he was gone so fast.

The verbal civil war over the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump's nominee to the Supreme Court, intensified this week, given new energy and ammunition by both sides.

"He was replaced by someone nobody heard of - her name is Tina Smith", said Trump.

Trump is hoping to boost Republicans chances in November by making a stop in southern Minnesota where races across the state are tightening.

Franken resigned after some of his Democratic colleagues turned on him in the wake of groping accusations.

Instead, he said, Smith will always vote with Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and the "legendary low IQ Maxine Waters".

"We're asking President Trump to live to his promises of more and better jobs in America instead of having our jobs being outsourced", Jerome Frederick said. "We need a chance to make things right again", Seifert said.
