Trump Doesn't Rule Out Recognizing Russia's Annexation Of Crimea

"We'll be talking about elections. we don't want anybody tampering with elections". "You can only ask so many times", Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One then after interacting with Putin at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. "The two leaders will discuss relations between the United States and Russian Federation and a range of national security issues", the White House statement said. I think it's about him, and he's a narcissist, it's all about him.

Trump said on Wednesday in the Oval Office that topics like Syria and Ukraine might be discussed.

Asked about lifting of sanctions on Russia, Trump appeared to be non-committal.

"We're going to talk about Ukraine, we're going to be talking about Syria".

"Russia continues to say they had nothing to do with Meddling in our Election!".

Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump are scheduled to hold their first one-on-one summit in Helsinki on July 16. We know nothing about what Trump is going to discuss.

While the meddling allegations have been repeatedly dismissed by both Putin and Trump, they have sparked a special counsel investigation in Washington and multiple congressional investigations which have come to different conclusions. "The one thing I'd say is Trump's not doing anything to counter those forces; he is accelerating them", he said. "And I think he looks at Putin, he thinks there's a guy who controls his own parliament, doesn't have dissent, controls his media, basically has far more power than the size of his country and his economy might indicate, and he wants to be like that", Campbell told Zakaria. "Show him the evidence you've got, Mr. President, because it's overwhelming".

The tweet reopened the question of whether Trump would broach the issue with Putin during their highly anticipated summit next month in Helsinki. The president also suggested that Russian Federation, which was kicked out of the group after it annexed Crimea in 2014, be invited back into the organization.

Previously, sanctions had been imposed during the administration of President Barack Obama in response to Russia's annexation of Crimea and its involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. That 1975 agreement was reached by the United States, Canada, and nearly every European country to solidify the post-World War II order in Europe and reduce tensions between the Western and Soviet blocs.

Peskov also said Putin was ready to move towards normalising ties with the United States in proportion to U.S. willingness to do the same.
