Extradition hearing held in Paterson for 6 accused in Bronx teen murder

Extradition hearing held in Paterson for 6 accused in Bronx teen murder

A 19-year-old man, Kevin Alvarez, has been charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and gang assault, the MailOnline reports.

One suspect tried to escape police but was apprehended shortly after, and another suspect was taken into custody in the Dominican Republic, according to PIX11. Guzman-Feliz ran to a nearby hospital and died soon after.

The Anthonys spoke to the parents of 15-year-old Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, but there's no word on what they said or possibly did for the grieving family, reports the NY Daily News.

And in 2015, gang members were accused of stabbing and breaking bottles over a man they thought was a member of a rival group.

A photo of Guzman-Feliz shared by the NYPD shows him wearing a jacket for the force's Explorer program, which introduces city 14-to-20-year-olds to careers in law enforcement.

One of the alleged killers who dragged a teenage boy from a Bronx bodega and hacked him to death on the street was nabbed because of his baggy trousers.

All six of the men waived their right to a hearing and the judge approved their extradition to New York State.

The New York Times reported that social media users believed that the victim may have been mistaken for another teen seen in a sex video with one of the suspect's relatives.

In horrifying CCTV footage Guzman-Feliz, who was known as Junior, could be seen by dragged out of a shop before being hacked to death with the machete. Some athletes and celebrities, including Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, rapper Cardi B, and singer Rihanna, have also called for justice and have expressed their condolences.

New video emerged of the assault late Monday that appeared to show Guzman-Feliz jumping over the counter of the bodega and attempting to hide from his assailants before the attack.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by Guzman-Feliz' family to help with funeral costs and other financial difficulties.

Thousands of people paid their respects to Guzman-Feliz's family at a wake Monday night. "All I can say was that he was a good kid", said Genesis Collado-Feliz, Junior's sister.

"What happened to this young man should have never happened so we're going to take this walk and we're going to walk for Junior", said community advocate Tony Herbert. "I want my son with me". "Not just a police officer, a detective".
